Thirsk Community Library opening April 1st 2017

Thirsk Community Library Steering Group invite the public and guests to join them at the Library in Meadowfields, Thirsk, on Saturday 1st April to celebrate the opening of Thirsk Community Library. From April 1st the Library will be run and managed by volunteers with the support of North Yorkshire County Council.

The Mayor of Thirsk, Councillor Derek Adamson, will cut the ribbon at about 09.30 and we are hoping there will be a ‘surprise’ visit from Thirsk Yarnbombers! There will also be an opportunity to support the library by joining The Friends of Thirsk Library.

The public are invited to come in and talk to the volunteers and share their ideas of how the library can become a hub of the community in Thirsk and the surrounding villages.

The library will be open as usual from 09.30 to 12.30 on Saturday 1st April. In the future we plan to continue or even extend the existing opening hours.

The group still needs more volunteers to help run the library. To find out more, please contact:
