Walkers who enjoy soaking up the wonderful views of the Cleveland Way National Trail can now enjoy a beer inspired by the popular route. ‘Striding the Riding’ is being brewed by Helmsley Brewing Company and will be officially launched at the Guisborough Beer Festival on Saturday 11 April 2015. The brewery will make a donation from the sale of each cask to contribute to the upkeep and promotion of the Cleveland Way.

Team Approach To Tackle Illegal Off-Roading

A recent action day to tackle illegal off-road motorised activity in the North York Moors National Park has been praised by members of the public. Representatives from the National Park Authority, Forestry Commission and North Yorkshire Police received many positive comments from cyclists, walkers and horse riders who were pleased that steps were being taken to prevent trail bikes and 4×4 vehicles using footpaths and bridleways in the area.

Scouts go the extra mile for National Park

Young people from the 1st Marston Moor Scout troop have been praised for their help and hard work to care for the North York Moors National Park. The scouts, from Tockwith in North Yorkshire, have been coming out once a month since October to plant trees, cut back overgrown vegetation and improve drainage on footpaths. As well as undertaking practical tasks, the girls and boys have also learnt about the area’s different habitats and wildlife.
