Alligator Gumbo are coming back to Grewelthorpe and tickets are now on sale.

Last in Grewelthorpe in February 2016 when they played to a packed house, Alligator Gumbo are based in Leeds but inspired by the sights and sounds of New Orleans jazz and blues. Performing around the UK since 2011, the band has played to rave reviews – from rowdy bars to some of the UK’s most prestigious jazz festivals.

Before the time of the jazz big bands, swing music was raw and largely improvised with melodies and solos happening simultaneously, now defined as the ‘New Orleans’ sound. Alligator Gumbo strive to keep this style alive in their renditions of popular songs from this unique time and place.

You can hear Alligator Gumbo at www.alligator-gumbo.co.uk/ (but be warned, you might want to turn the volume down first!).

Tickets (£10) can be purchased from the Hackfall Cafe at Grewelthorpe Village Hall during opening hours or online at www.wegottickets.com/event/433277.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 12th May.
