On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November, The Moors National Park Centre, Danby will be hosting their ever popular annual Christmas Fair from 10:30am – 4pm.
Celebrating the very best of local arts, crafts and seasonal gifts, there will be over 30 stalls to browse round, offering items from jewellery and ceramics to tree decorations, scented soaps, leather goods, cushions and handmade chocolates. This free event offers the chance to purchase wonderful and creative items from the artists and producers themselves.
Visitors can also enjoy delightful children’s craft-making activities, traditional music from a vintage fairground organ and a visit from Father Christmas to help get into the festive spirit!
The Inspired by… gallery at Danby will also be exhibiting ‘Artist Advent’ from Friday 18 November to Sunday 22 January, where Brigantia’s artists and craftworkers showcase the very best in painting, photography, textile, ceramics and jewellery.
On 26 and 27 November, the Sutton Bank National Park Centre will be holding a Christmas shopping weekend with a 10% discount on gift shop purchases of £25 or more. Visitors can shop for lots of locally sourced and different gifts in a relaxed atmosphere. There will be tasting sessions, craft activities, live music and seasonal treats in the café too!
Sally-Ann Smith, Exhibitions and Events Coordinator at the North York Moors National Park said:
“The craft fair and shopping weekend are lovely ways to pick up locally produced gifts, whilst enjoying a variety of crafts, exhibitions and demonstrations. The cafés at both centres will be open, offering hot and cold drinks and snacks. Both Danby and Sutton Bank have wonderful family-friendly walks from the door, making the shopping weekends a great day out for all the family.”
The centres are open daily in November and December from 10:30am until 4pm apart from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
